Guanyin is seated on a lotus pedestal above a richly modeled base of curling waves, lotus blossoms and leaves. A large leaf-shaped back panel frames the figure. The raised right hand, gently lowered gaze, beaded ornaments and flowing drapery give the sculpture a composed, contemplative presence.
