Item No.: 1672
Name: A large blue-and-white jar with figures from The Peach Blossom Spring
Period: Yuan dynasty
Height: 19.8 cm
A hatted figure sits in a boat, reaching forward to handle its equipment amid water and vegetation. The measured action suggests a journey away from ordinary bustle. Through the catalogue title Peach Blossom Spring, the boat recalls the passage toward an ideal world in Tao Yuanming’s story and the translation of literary imagination into ceramic imagery.
