Name: A Ru ware sky-blue-glazed incense burner with two handles
Period: Northern Song dynasty
Height: 12.5 cm
Two handles bring balance to the silhouette of this incense burner, while its sky-blue glaze emphasizes the unity of the form. As an implement for burning incense, its interior space matters as much as its outward appearance. Moving from outline to surface, viewers can consider how a functional vessel could also become part of an interior display.
